Faith is believing beyond a shadow of a doubt that something is or will be.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Luke 17:6
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
It's so important to have faith in God that he can and will do what we ask him according to his will. If we seek him and his will for our life and put our trust in him, he will give us the desire of our hearts. He knows what we need even before we ask him, but he wants us to trust and believe in him that he will supply our every need. He wants us to ask him and put our faith in him. He has given a measure of faith unto all men. It's up to us if we let that faith grow and become strong. If we never use the measure that has been given to us then our faith can not grow. But if we pray and put our faith in God, that he hears us when we pray then our faith will grow and grow.
Romans 12:3
...according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
2Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight:
Mark 11:22
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have FAITH IN GOD
Not only must we have faith, we also must put works with our faith. For example we believe that a lamp will work and shine out a light (faith), but we must turn the lamp on (works) in order for it to put out light.
James 2:14
What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone
It is imperative to put works with our faith! If we will have faith and put works with our faith then God WILL move for us. It's his desire to bless us, but he wants us to seek his will for our life.
